They say you have to crawl, before you can walk, but every parent knows that can be a lot easier said than done.

When I had my son, I realized the art of crawling was a difficult one - there was a lot of slipping, sliding and bumping on both our carpeted and uncarpeted floors. I was as frustrated as my son, and wished there were baby clothes on the market to make the whole process easier and safer. So, I started to look for a solution.


My first step was to research the importance of crawling and I was amazed with what I found (see “The Benefits of Crawling”). I knew crawling was important, but I didn't realize just how important it was! I also discovered why it is so important for babies to spend some time, each day, on their stomachs, if they want to become proficient with their crawling skills (see my article entitled “ Tummy Time”),

My solution was to adapt baby clothing to help infants learn to crawl. I designed the clothes with non-slip material sewn right onto the wear-points of the garments: the elbows, knees, toes, and bottom of the feet, to provide the stability and traction needed for forward movement. (They also give those areas a bit of extra padding!)

Then I researched healthy infant foot development (see “Healthy Foot Development”). Again, the information I found astounded me! And it’s why “booties” are sewn right into the appropriate garment to keep your babies feet warm, protected and healthy.

I chose very vibrant material colours and textured the non-slip pads to help stimulate a child's visual and tactile senses (see my articles entititled: “ The Importance of Infant Visual Stimulation”, “ What Does My Child See?” and “ Why Touch is Important to the Baby and the Brain”).

I know you, and your child, will love this line of baby clothing. They are fun, durable, comfortable and, best of all, help to give your child a competitive edge in this very demanding world we live in.
